Occupational therapists help you do daily activities, such as cooking, eating, bathing and dressing. They also address issues related to vision and cognition. To help achieve your maximum level of independence, your occupational therapist may design a therapy program to:

Improve physical endurance and strength

Increase your ability to do activities of daily living

Help compensate for vision and memory loss

Assess the need for assistive equipment, bracing or splinting to improve function

Dysphagia (Swallowing disorders), including feeding disorders

Cognitive dysfunction, such as problems organizing thoughts, paying attention, memory, problem solving skills etc.
